book of (some) days, february 2023

World Pride month in my local town square. Very conflicted about the rainbow capitalism and celebrations existing alongside each other.

Celebrating Valloween, one of the opportunities to spook up a holiday throughout the year. I’m very new to what’s called the Halloween Community online, basically people whose love for the October celebration keeps them going no matter the time. My life is too short not to embrace things like this when they make me so happy, I don’t care how unfashionable it may be. I can make Valloween altars and put serious effort into my films and writing. The cake is being had and eaten.

Quotes backing the sticker pages in a book I have.

Borrowed my best friend Laura’s rainbow flower crown during a night I spent with her and another best friend Luca to celebrate Mardi Gras as our introvert selves. We often stick craft eyeballs to our foreheads in honour of Everything Everywhere All At Once, one of our collective favourite films. Art infiltrates all of our lives in so many ways. I am grateful for bonds that celebrate these things.

6:30 am breakfast after Mardi Gras. I brought my 3D print of Thing (from Wednesday/The Addams Family) for a laugh and decided to bring him. Here I can return to the above sentence about my life being too short to be unserious as well as serious.

Revisiting old Instagram posts for a new project.
