book of (some) days - january 2023

8 jan. samhain pumpkin from October still perfect. pumpkin oracle card was pulled hours after it was acquired. said card echoes future creative power.

10 jan. saw katie noonan sing joni mitchell’s blue in its entirety. didn’t realise until then that joni had such a high range when she was young.

11 jan. rediscovered this notebook. i think these are a screenplay protagonist’s thoughts on religion as she navigates the apocalypse.

13 jan. altar to celtic goddess brigid of creativity and fire. cauldron holds corn husk dolls, felt statuary decorated with heirloom necklace as sash.

18 jan. running around soaked chinatown streets at 10pm with my two best friends, trying to find a tattoo parlour. a melted gasoline rainbow of spontaneity.

22 jan. “frida kahlo: the life of an icon” exhibition final piece. portrait in silk flowers. i think they should have made her skin darker, but besides that i love it. it takes what she wore as her garland of power and turns it into her whole self. all power.

27 jan. a symbol of celtic goddess brigid is white feathers. a symbol of norse goddess freyja (of love and war) is black feathers. i haven’t seen one like this before.

31 jan. watched wednesday this month and have done three times since in order to show other people. i haven’t connected this fast to a show for as long as i can remember. more on her soon.
